Well, it's been a bit over 6 months since my last post. :(

So here's some bullet points about our last 6 months:

We are still in Midland

We still haven't found a church home

Avery has finished Pre-K and will start Kinder on Monday

Alexyss passed 2nd grade with flying colors and starts 3rd grade on Monday

Andy's still at Sam's

I'm still at Wal-Mart in the Money Center

We miss our friends and family

Both girls played soccer in Midland for the Spring Season and loved it

Both girls will be playing again for the Fall Season

We still have no idea where or what our next move will be with Sam's

I will try harder to keep up with this.

Have you ever wondered about these words? PLEASE and THANK YOU!

I have been thinking about them quite a bit lately, because they aren't used that much. I often wonder why that is.

They are almost like calming words. Words of gratitude and gratefulness. Words that should be used a lot more frequently by people who are asking for things to be done and when those things have been completed.

I have NEVER looked or thought of these words as recognition, but RESPECT!

RESPECT isHUGE, and unfortunately not that important to some.

Today is my anniversary!

Andy and I have been married 8 years! It's been a lot of work, but I feel that we are closer now than we have ever been. I hope in my heart that our relationship continues to get stronger. I know that a marriage is truly a work in progress, and I can't wait to see what God has in store for us this year!

I was introduced on Christmas Eve and I have been smitten ever since. :)

For those of you that know me....I have not been a wine drinker at all. I am professing that I am a changed woman!

I have found a wine that I abosolutely ADORE! This wine is sweet and bubbly. It tastes nothing like what I have sampled and hated. I went to HEB and bought 2 bottles, some wine glasses and a corkscrew last week. I was so anxious to have a glass, but I had NO clue how to use a corkscrew let alone open a bottle of wine. So, as patiently as I could, I waited for Andy to get home and I was all too proud to show off my purchases. :) Little did I know....I didn't need that darn corkscrew.....it's a screw top!

Anyway.....lesson learned!

P.S. Out of those 2 bottles that I bought last week....I have about 1/2 a bottle left.

Today was crazy busy at work, and I was trying to figure out why. Then a light went off....It's the 1st if the month.

There were so many people who came through the line with steaks, shrimp, a ton of candy and goodies, everything was mainly name brand. These people weren't paying with cash, check or credit card. Most were using their Lonestar Card.

Which, is not bad if they truly need it. I feel sure that there are some out there who may not need it or maybe just "milking" the system.

I was checking out this young girl last week, and she was on her cell phone. I hadn't noticed what she was purchasing, but I did here her say that she needed to reserve a room for that night. As she and her items got closer I realized what she was trying to accomplish.

Yep! She even gave the hotel her credit card number while I was scanning her items.

Life Update

Well, we have made it to Midland. We are somewhat settled. Our apartment is slowly but surely feeling like a home, and that makes me happy.

Avery has started her Pre-K class and absolutely loves it. We have not had many issues with the change and it has been such a blessing. She loves her class, her friends and her teachers.

Alexyss started the 2nd grade and once again we have been Blessed with a wonderful teacher. There are some things that this school district does a tad different than what we have grown accustomed too, but change is good. Right?

We have attended church the last 2 weekends and it seems to be a nice church. It's HUGE! The church is beautiful, and the worship and preaching has been great too! Still not sure if this is where we belong, but so far it's been great.

Midland has come to grow on me a bit since being here....I have to use my Sprint Navigation, but that's okay.

I don't have a job yet, and I kind of like that! I never thought I would hear myself say that. The girls seem to be doing better with me being home. We are able to do baths, dinner, and homework in a reasonable time and have the girls in bed at a reasonable time too. I'll have to keep you posted on whether or not this will turn into a full time gig. :)

Well, it's been 26 days since I last posted on here and what a 26 days it's been. To top it off I haven't really had too much to say either.

I am roughly 2 weeks away from completing this semester of college.
There is the potential that we will be moving to Lubbock this summer.

Both girls are doing quite well at soccer, and I have survived too!

It's Been A While....

Crazy how time flies! I didn't even realize that it's been almost a month since my last post. I guess other things in life have been keeping me quite busy.

School has been going okay...I can't believe that I am half-way through my first semester back in college and I am still alive.

I have gotten 3 parking tickets, all of which I say were well worth the cost.

Both girls have started soccer, and I'll update later on whether or not that was a wise choice. Their season officially starts this Saturday. The good news...we only have one 8 am game a piece and they happen to be on the same day. PRAISE GOD for small miracles. :)

I am still working part-time, and that seems to be going okay. My only complaint is the part-time paycheck.

I went on a scrapbook retreat 1 1/2 weeks ago and had a blast! Made a few mini albums for myself...which I hardly do. the day I was leaving to head back home...I GOT STUCK! It was quite funny, at least it is now.

With working and going to school I treasure the weekends more now. I seem to appreciate them more. I still need to learn how to manage my time better, but hopefully that will come with time.

Sorry for the delay in posting...hopefully I'll be better.

I doubt it, but I can hope, right?

WOW!

Welcome to West Texas! We woke up this morning to snow on the ground. Schools and daycare were closed for the girls, but not for me!

So, I went to class....we had an essay due for English. When I got there and walked *uphill in a blizzard* to get to class there were only 3 of us there. The professor took our essays if we chose to go ahead and turn them in and said "be safe." No class!

When I left school I decided to come on by the office for a few hours and left the Mr., who is sleep deprived, with the girls. Hopefully everyone is still alive! :)

It seems that since school has started I don't have much time to update this thing. It's kind of sad. I don't ever really have a whole lot to say, but sometimes it's just fun to ramble on.

My 2nd week of school seems to be going well. I can't get over how tired I am all the time. This homework stuff is exhausting. :) I am hoping that in a few more weeks I will be better adapted to my new normal. My body is aching from all the walking I am doing. My ankles have turned into ca-ankles...yes, I said that out loud.

I am trying to stay on top of homework by doing a bit each evening. I think it's helped. Yesterday I went to a review session for my math, because we have a test in a couple weeks, and I wanted to make sure I somewhat understood what was happening. As it turns out...I was the only one there. Mr. says that's normal and I shouldn't be surprised. Either it's that or I am the only stupid one in the class. I am almost certain it's the first. :)

Better get back to my History reading. I also have my first draft of a Sudan/Darfur essay due Tuesday morning too.

Things have been quite crazy this last week. I started school, and things seem to be going good. I am trying to make myself work on homework every night so I am not slammed the night before the class. So far that seems to help.

I paid for my parking ticket this afternoon...$40 smackers down the drain. Oh well...lesson learned. (I think)

The Mr. and the girls have been very supportive with my school and the duties at the house. The Mr. and I have been doing laundry and cooking together to make it easier on us both.

Today is our 7th anniversary. Crazy how time flies. My mom is watching the girls tonight while the Mr. and I go out to dinner. I think we are trying Shogun's.

Last night we met my mom and sister at Cici's for dinner and they surprised me with a cake and a sweet gift. The cake said, "We're proud of you, Kim!" It was sweet to know they are supporting me too. My gift was a plaque of sorts that said, "God is with you in all you do!" I totally needed that right now.

I got up Sunday morning and took the girls to church. It was actually a GREAT sermon. I have gotten out of that routine and I really need to get back into one.

I didn't realize that it has been almost a week since I have updated anything.

We've been kind of busy, so here's a brief rundown by bullet point what we have been up to.

I start ASU Tuesday! In a week I will have to adjust to being a student into my everyday life.
We have been struggling once again with Alexyss in school.
My FIL fell and had to have surgery on Sunday and is still in the hospital.
The new girl started yesterday and she seems pretty nice.

The Mister surprised me yesterday...He called and said you need to power off your phone and you'll need to come by Sam's when you get off...YOU'RE GETTING A BLACKBERRY!

I stayed up until almost 1 am playing with my phone, and I still don't know how to use it. I had to call my SIL and ask how to vibrate/mute the ringer while I was at work. I remembered seeing it last night when I was playing around, but I couldn't figure it out this morning to save my life.

I did manage to get all my contacts from my old phone transferred over to the new phone, and then found out this morning that I probably could have Bluetoothed them over. Whatever that means! :)

So far I am enjoying it....I am thinking that once I get used to all it can do I will enjoy it more.

Hey guys! Hope everyone had a GREAT New Years! We just hung out at the house and watched the ball drop. Big A stayed up till Midnight, but Little A was out quick.

Yesterday the Mr. was off work, so we took down all the Christmas decorations and they are packed up for another year. CRAZY, because it seems that it's more work to take them down than it is to put them up.

My inlaws got a new stove and microwave, so we inherited their old one. We no longer have our burnt orange stove. We have a stove now that has a glass top and the temperature in the oven works. No more guessing while I bake.

Anyway....I never thought that I would be blogging about DOWNLOADING anything. However, since I got my IPOD touch I have been DOWNLOADING songs and applications and some games.

My 13 year old niece told me about a site that she uses to DOWNLOAD songs. I looked it up last night and DOWNLOADED about 30 songs. A variety of songs. I am at work listening to my IPOD and the songs range from Country to Pop to Christian. I like that!

So far, I am enjoying the mess out of my IPOD. I just need to find a cover for it. The Mr. and I looked at Walmart over the weekend, and found one that WE both liked but got it home and it didn't fit the IPOD. We looked closer and the cover was for an IPHONE.

This is what I got for Christmas! I was speechless! Now I have to figure out how to use it. The funny thing is that the internet side of it doesn't work at my house because we don't have a wireless connection.

I am pretty much done with Christmas shopping! I need to grab 1 more gift card and I will be done for sure! Now just have to finish wrapping things.

I have had a couple last minute purchases that we didn't plan on, but that is ok. I decided just to grab a gift card and call it done. Those $25 gift cards are a small price to pay when you see the recipient's face light up in shock that there's a gift for them under the tree too.

You see...when we drew names for Christmas this year I failed to include my MIL's husbands daughters. I know...I SUCK! Well...they will be joining us on Christmas Eve when we do our meal, Christmas Eve service and presents. My SIL Kathy and I thought for sure they needed a little something, but my other SIL didn't feel like they needed anything. We were talking about $20 a couple...in the grand scheme of things is not a lot of money. So...Kathy & I are providing gift certificates for the 2 daughters and their boyfriend/spouse.

Christmas is the time for giving and making sacrifices!

Last week I did a post about getting together my baking list. Anyone remember that?

Truthfully...it doesn't matter! I didn't get anything made! I intended to do a goody tray for Big A's teacher...well, all she got was a cute ornament.

I really HATE when I let time get away from me. I am usually a much better planner than that!

I am starting to panic because I haven't had a chance to finish up our shopping!

I have 4 or 6 gift cards that I need to get...all of which I all ready know amounts and locations for.
I still need to do stocking gifts...I am sure it will be socks & underwear and maybe some DVD's.
Andy's Christmas...not 100% sure what to get him.
Heather's Christmas...I better not say what I am going to get, just in the off chance she's reading this.
Just a few more items for Avery...I am thinking clothes or jammies.

I guess that's really not too bad...but still!

It just hit me...I never did a post for Little A!

Her birthday was Wednesday the 16th. She turned 4!

All in all that would be great, but she has been sick! :( She's doing much better now!

We are having her party tomorrow at Mr. Gatti's! That's what she wanted! With a birthday in December it makes it kind of hard to have a pool party! We could always swim in long johns, right?

Some of my Bunko friends from church are making her a Veggie Tales cake! Little A totally adores Veggie Tales! I can't wait to see the cake!

Anyway...

Little A...I love you very much, and I wouldn't trade you for anything! Your stubborness...well, all I can do is smile! I can't wait to see what the future holds for you!

Ironically I will never be able to forget this day! I have good reason to want to forget it, but I have an even better reason to not forget it.

December 13, 1997....I got married for the 1st time! What a disaster of a marriage that was! We didn't even survive to our 1 year anniversary! How pathetic is that? Wait, don't answer that, please!

December 13, 1978...Andy's birthday!

December 13, 2009...on what would have been my 12th anniversary; I was at home celebrating Andy's 31st birthday.

I am thankful to God that I don't have to forget this day....because, if I had to forget this day I wouldn't have been Blessed to have Andy in my life.

I made Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows last night to take to our Sunday School party tonight. I think they turned out really good.

As I made them, I figured out that it was easier to dip half of the marshmallow and once it hardens, dip the other side.

IT WAS SO SIMPLE!

I will try to snap a picture of them before the party tonight and hopefully post it on here.

I am getting my list together of Christmas goodies to bake this year. I always surf the interent looking for different and fun Holiday ideas.

In my quest I found:

Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows, which by the way look delicious. They sell on the internet for $6.99 a dozen.
Chocolate Dipped Pretzels, which I made last year. They sell on the internet for $6.99 a dozen too.
Assorted Cake Balls...I really LOVE making these. I have found them on the internet for around $25 a dozen.

What in the world? The chocolate or almond bark, sells for $2.36 a package. The marshmallows or pretzels sell for around $1.50-$2.00 a package. For the cake balls; you can buy a cake mix and coordinating frosting for less than $3.00. 1 cake mix makes anywhere from 4-6 dozen cake balls.

Anyway...wonder what I'll make this year. Probably won't be doing as big a bake-off as I have done in previous years, but will definitely be some.
